ABOUT GALLO DAIRYLAND

Gallo Dairyland is a family owned and operated business situated on the beautiful
Atherton Tablelands, in tropical North Queensland. The Gallo Family have
been farming on the banks of the Barron River since 1937.
Ideally situated on the Atherton-Malanda Road, and spread across 990 acres,
the dairy operation milks approx 500 friesian cows twice daily.
Frank Gallo often dreamed of converting the family's rotary dairy into an integrated
educational dairy farm experience. Already popular with local schools
and tour groups, the opportunity to view a fully operational dairy farm, interact
with the animals, sample some dairy produce is finally a reality.

Johannes Minder, a Swiss-born food designer joined the family operation, developing
gourmet “lactose free” cheese and fine handcrafted
chocolates. Johannes spent four months
in his home country designing the special plant that now produces the gourmet
range of cheese for Gallo Dairyland.
Nik Ott is the friendly Swiss Cheesemaker you will find through the viewing
window at Gallo Dairyland working his curds and whey.
Judith Boehm, also a food technologist from Germany, works her wonders through
the glass window to produce the most beautiful hand-crafted chocolates.
